Individual Development Account (IDA) Program : VIDA & MCSP

The Family Economic Opportunity Program ( FEOP) at CASA of Oregon provides administrative services and fiduciary oversight for Individual Development Accounts (IDAs) in the Northwest.

IDAs are offered by community-based organizations, housing authorities and educational institutions that provide support for individual participants

Our program partners work directly with individuals and households with limited financial resources, providing training and saver support to help build financial resiliency. If you work for an organization interested in accessing IDAs for the people you serve, contact The IDA Team

IDA match funds come from a variety of sources including the federal government, state government, and private foundations. Participant savings accounts are hosted by local financial institutions that work with CASA of Oregon, the program administrator.

What is an Individual Development Account ?
An Individual Development Account (IDA) is a matched savings account; a savings account which multiplies the money put into it.

IDAs enable individuals and households with limited financial resources to save and build assets at an accelerated pace while developing good financial habits. By enrolling in an IDA program with one of our partner agencies, making regular monthly deposits and completing financial education, an individual saver gains access to match funds. IDA funds can be used to achieve one of the following goals:

1. Homeownership

2. Small business start-up or expansion

3. Post-secondary education or job training

4. Home rehabilitation or repair

5. Employment-related adaptive equipment, technology or specialized training
